West Enterprises has extensive experience planning, reorganizing and designing materials storage solutions for our clients. As part of a larger engagement, or as a stand-alone contract service, WE can align inventory deployment to match the needs of the client organization. This includes initiatives to capture misappropriated space to be returned to direct activities, implement Point of Use (POU) installations to place materials closer to the end user eliminating walk and wait time, and reorganizing central stores to promote streamlined work processes and limit stashes and swamps throughout the site. At it’s core, inventory management has two main concepts: know what you have and know what you need. Once these have been identified, the goal is to manage the placement and location of the inventory in order to limit investment and maximize availability.
